Terra D'Alter Alvarinho 2010 Branco

Há uns anos atrás num restaurante foi sugerido pelo empregado de mesa para provarmos um vinho Alvarinho feito no Douro. Eu queria beber o vinho, mas as pessoas assustaram-se e disseram: "Alvarinho do Douro? isso não deve ser bom". Passados estes anos é a primeira vez que consigo por a mão num Alvarinho feito fora da região dos vinhos verdes.

Aparência:
Cor amarela pálida.

Aromas:
Predominante vegetal, pareceram-me folhas e algumas sugestões tropicais.

Palato:
De corpo muito leve, de sabor marcadamente cítrico, mudando depois para um perfil mais vegetal, mas sem vida, sem acidez, sente-se apenas uma ligeira sensação frisante.

Final:
Extraordinariamente longo.

Conclusão:
Só não consegue fazer quem não erra, mas esta colheita está ainda a anos luz de um Alvarinho. Falta-lhe frescura, vida, sensações tropicais e alegria de viver.

A few years ago in a restaurant was suggested by the waiter to taste a Alvarinho wine from the Douro region. I wanted to drink the wine, but it particularly disturbed people and they said: "Alvarinho from Douro? This does not taste good" . After these years is the first time I put my hands on a Alvarinho made out of the "Vinhos verdes" region.


Appearance:
Pale yellow color.


Aromas:
Predominant vegetable, like leaves and some tropical hints.


Palate:
Very light body, citric, changing to a vegetable profile but without life, without acidity, you feel just a slight light sparkling sensation.


Finish:
Unusually long.


Conclusion:
Only missing the target a few times it's possible to do better, but this vintage is very, but very far from the typical Alvarinho. It lacks freshness, life, tropical sensations and "joie de vivre".
